STA Armored Cable

STA Armored Cable

STA Cable

STA cables are cross-linked polyethylene insulated cables, generally of low to medium voltage. yjv22 has a maximum rated working temperature of 90°C. The insulation colour is translucent and has excellent electrical, mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. The utility model is light in weight and is not subject to fall restrictions for laying.

Armoured cable features.

- Standards: IEC 60502-1, BS 6346.
- SWA, STA, ATA Optional armouring available.
- Armouring is designed to provide additional protection against mechanical stresses that could cause damage to the cable.
- Armoured cables can be buried directly and withstand higher tensile forces.
- Armoured cables are available with copper and aluminium conductors on request.

What is STA cable?

The full name of STA cable is Steel Strip Armoured Cable. STA cables are used for transmission lines up to 35KV. Steel tape armoured cables have two layers of steel tape wrapped around the inner sheath. The steel tape cable is buried underground, so the steel tape acts as a protection for the cable.

STA cable characteristics

Long-term permissible working temperature: the long-term working temperature of the conductor shall not exceed 90°C and the z-high working temperature shall not exceed 250°C during short-circuit (z-long duration not exceeding 5s) .
The cable laying temperature should not be lower than 0°C.
Minimum bending radius (D is the outer diameter of the cable)
Single-core cables: 15D.
Multi-core cables: 12D.
Special characteristics
Flame-retardant products: Flame-retardant characteristics conform to the requirements of GB/T 19666-2005 General Rules for Flame-retardant and Fire-resistant Wires and Cables.
Flame-retardant and fire-resistant products: Flame-retardant and fire-resistant characteristics in line with the requirements of GB/T 19666-2005 "General rules for flame-retardant and fire-resistant wires and cables .

Use of STA cables

Armored cable mechanical protection layer can be added to any structure of the cable to increase the mechanical strength of the cable and improve the resistance to erosion, it is a wire and cable designed for areas that are susceptible to mechanical damage and highly susceptible to erosion. It can be laid at will and is more suitable for direct burial in stony areas.

Armoured cable is generally a fixed laying power cable, fixed in one place and basically immobile, the power line transmits electricity.

The purpose of adding armour layer to the cable, in addition to the above role, can also enhance the tensile strength, compressive strength and other mechanical protection to extend the service life.

The armour has a certain resistance to external forces, it also prevents rats from tearing and does not cause problems with the transmission of electricity through the armour, the bending radius of the armour should be large and the armour layer can be earthed to protect the cable.
