Armored cable is referred to as armored cable, which is a cable protected by an outer layer of metal armor, and therefore has mechanical protection against damage. Armored cables can be used in different harsh environments. Armored cables are reliable and safe when installed outdoors. The metal protective cover protects the inner cable from damage caused by abrasion, tearing, crushing or corrosion.
Ruitian offers SWA i.e. SWA cables and AWA i.e. AWA cables with different specific armored XLPE cables.
Armored cables are usually cables used for armored operations, especially as underground armored cables.
Armored cable is typically a low voltage cable. It is armored and is usually considered to be a flame retardant cable.
In armored operations, durable cables are required for use in electrical equipment. Also, the durable cable must be able to withstand the harsh conditions in the armored installation. Armored cables are the result of engineering design.
Armored cables are designed and manufactured to withstand the harsh armored environment. The armored cable must ensure safety, durability, reliability and good performance in the armored installation.
What is armored cable?
Armored cable refers to armored power cable. The main purpose of armored core cable is to convert or distribute power. It is commonly used in urban underground grid, power station outlet, internal power supply of industrial and mining enterprises or whole buildings.
Armored cable structure
Conductor: Composed of ordinary stranded copper
Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is used in many power cables because of its good water resistance and excellent electrical properties.
Liner: A polyvinyl chloride (PVC) liner is used to provide a protective boundary between the inner and outer layers of the cable.
Armoring: Steel wire armoring provides mechanical protection, which means that the cable can withstand higher stresses, be buried directly and used for external or underground work
Sheathing: The black PVC sheath holds all components of the cable together and provides additional protection from external stresses.
Armored cable characteristics
Cross-linked polyethylene insulated armored power cables not only have excellent electrical and mechanical properties. And they also have strong resistance to chemical corrosion, thermal aging and environmental stresses. The structure of armored cable is simple. The long-term working temperature is 90℃. Armored power cable is easy to use and can be laid without grade restriction.
Armored cable advantages
Armored power cable is more like a layer of armor than non-armored power. At the same time, it has absolute advantages. When we add armor to the cable, it can increase the mechanical properties. Therefore, armored core cable has strong resistance to compression.
Our main armored cables: single core AWA armored cable, 2 core armored cable, 3 core armored cable, 4 core armored cable, 5 core armored cable.
